(More customer reviews)I bought think unit several months ago. On a fishing trip back in September 2008, it all of a sudden stopped getting signal. I contacted Garmin support when I got home and followed their instructions to fix the problem. It still didn't work. I called customer support again, and they told me to send the unit in for repairs. I had to pay the shipping. A few weeks later, I got another unit in the mail with dirt encased in the buttons, scratches on the screen, and nicks in the casing (worse condition than the unit I sent in). The "lightly used" unit functions pretty well, but has frozen on several occasions. I contacted Garmin and told them that this was a poor exchange policy, and they essentially told me to deal with it.
This unit does not function as well as other reviews have suggested. It is not any faster than other GPS's in terms of picking up signal. The maps are also pretty rudimentary. I will say that the battery life is quite long and it is pretty easy to use.
Given the terrible customer support (I was on hold 20-30 minutes each time I called), and the fact that the unit's function is equivalent to other GPS's on the market, I would highly recommend against purchasing this product.
