(More customer reviews)It was very easy to replace the battery, they provided the couple of tools and a good on-line video. The hardest part was pulling the old battery as Garmin put some tough doublesided tape on it! I'm hoping this battery is better than the Garmin as the orginal one just lasted a few months past the warranty. Considering that this is Li-ion the Garmin battery should have lasted several years. Either they are using cheap batteries or they have some weird charging that kills the battery. My guess is cheap batteries as they just recalled 1.5m units (mine wasn't bad per them). I wasn't sure if I would lose any data (stored points, recent, etc.), but everything was there after the new battery so they must write to a permanet area which is good. It's nice to have the Garmin not telling me the battery is weak every time I go to power off the unit.
